Bitcoin: using BTC in a casino cashier
Bitcoin (BTC) is the best-known cryptocurrency, and some cashiers offer it as an alternative to bank payments. If you see Bitcoin in the Fenikss cashier or another casino’s, here is how deposits and payouts work and where the usual mistakes hide. If you do not see it, the method is not available for your account and cannot be switched on from outside.
The set of methods and the limits depend on the operator and the account — check the cashier.
Depositing Bitcoin
- Choose Bitcoin in the cashier; it generates an address for your account.
- Copy the address and paste it into a transfer from your wallet or exchange.
- Check the first and last four characters, the amount and the network — BTC must go over the Bitcoin network.
- After network confirmations the cashier credits your balance.
“Confirmations” mean the transaction has been recorded in the blockchain and checked by following blocks. The cashier waits for a set number; until then the deposit can look stuck. On the Bitcoin network confirmations can take a while, especially with a low fee.
Network fees
Sending BTC costs a network fee that depends on how busy the network is. Too low a fee can delay confirmation for a long time. If the cashier has a minimum deposit, remember the fee comes out on your wallet’s side.
Withdrawing to a Bitcoin address
For a payout you enter your own BTC address in the cashier. Before sending, the operator checks your account as for any method — document, name, bonus status. Some cashiers offer Bitcoin payouts only to players who deposited that way. Once sent, the coins are in your wallet; turning them into euros in a bank account takes an exchange sale and a transfer, each with its own fee and timing. Statuses are explained on Withdrawals.
If a deposit has not arrived
- Find the transaction in a blockchain explorer and check its confirmations.
- Make sure you sent to the cashier’s current address, not an older saved one.
- Check the amount was not below the cashier’s minimum.
If everything matches, send support the transaction hash, time and amount.
Bitcoin and bonuses
If you attach a bonus to a Bitcoin deposit, the same wagering rules apply as to any deposit; sometimes crypto deposits are excluded from bonuses altogether. Read the terms first — see Wagering. BTC moves against the euro and mistaken transfers cannot be reversed; if those risks feel unnecessary, use pay by bank. Crypto overview: Crypto.
