Bonus terms: a checklist before you opt in
Bonus terms are usually long and legal, but only a few clauses matter for your payout. This checklist helps you find them fast — whether you are reading an offer from Fenikss or another operator. The calculations and game contributions are covered on Wagering; this page is about the reading method.
Five clauses to find first
- Wagering base and multiplier. Bonus only, or bonus plus deposit?
- Expiry. How many days you have, and what happens after.
- Maximum bet while the bonus is active.
- Maximum cash-out from bonus winnings, if any.
- Early withdrawal. Does requesting a payout void the bonus and winnings?
Clauses people usually miss
- Excluded payment methods — some deposits never qualify for a bonus.
- Excluded games and games with reduced contribution.
- One bonus per person, household or device — breaking it can block every linked account.
- “Irregular play” clauses. Operators may define strategies banned with a bonus, such as sharp swings in stake size.
- The operator’s right to change the terms. Note the date of the terms.
How to read quickly
Open the terms and search for “wager”, “maximum bet”, “maximum cash-out”, “expiry”, “withdrawal” and “void”. Write each clause you find on one line. If after five minutes you cannot answer “when and how much will I be able to withdraw?”, you probably do not need this bonus.
A note-taking template
| Clause | What to write down |
|---|---|
| Wagering | Base, multiplier, resulting total |
| Expiry | The date by which wagering must be done |
| Bets | Maximum bet, excluded games |
| Payout | Cap, and what an early request does |
General terms versus offer terms
A bonus usually has two documents: the specific offer’s terms and general bonus terms that apply to all offers. If they conflict, the terms usually say which prevails. Read both — the maximum-bet and excluded-games clauses often live in the general terms.
If terms change or are unclear
Take a screenshot of the terms on the day you activate the bonus; if a dispute arises later, you have proof of what applied. Ask support about unclear clauses in writing before you opt in. If a dispute does happen, follow Complaints and disputes. All bonus types: Bonuses; the payout process: Withdrawals.
