Table games: rules that change the outcome

Table games are roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker variants played against the house. Online they come in two forms: digital (outcomes decided by a random number generator) and live with a streamed dealer (see Live casino). This page covers what matters for your balance. Which tables the Fenikss lobby or another casino’s has, check in the lobby.

Rule variants are not a detail

Table games come in variants whose differences change the house edge. Roulette, for instance, has single-zero and double-zero versions — the house edge is higher in the second. In blackjack it matters how many decks are used, what the dealer does on soft 17 and how blackjack pays. These rules are shown in the table info; read them before your first bet.

Bet structure

Side bets tempt with big payouts but usually carry a higher house edge.

Table games and bonuses

Table games often count only partly towards wagering, or not at all, and some terms ban certain strategies with a bonus, such as betting on both outcomes at once. If you mainly play at tables, you may be better off without a bonus. See Wagering.

Balance and withdrawal

The stake is taken when you confirm and wins are credited at the end of the round. In blackjack, extra bets are taken during the round. Real-money wins can be withdrawn straight away. For larger sums, expect verification and possibly source-of-funds questions.

Systems that “always work”

Betting systems such as doubling after a loss do not change the house edge. They only change what losses look like: many small wins and rare but big losses when you hit the table limit or run out of balance. Do not trust sites that sell “systems”. Control tools: Responsible gambling.

Digital or live

Digital tables run faster, so more rounds — and more stakes — fit into an hour. At live tables the dealer and betting timer set the pace. For your budget that matters: at the same stake, a digital table uses it up faster.
